Tancredo Attempts to Block Foreign Aid to Mexico and Central America

Amendment to “Merida Initiative” Would Have Blocked Funds Until
Corruption in Mexico Brought Under Control

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton) today put forth an amendment in the House Foreign Affairs Committee attempting to block foreign aid under the Merida Initiative to Mexico. The amendment would block all funding until the President of the United States has certified that the Mexican government has met a list of requirements.

The maintenance of elementary law and order in the face of organized violence against law enforcement and legal institutions, infiltration of the armed services and local police by the drug cartels, and endemic corruption at all levels of government – these are the primary threats to Mexico’s people and democratic institutions today,” said Tancredo.

Among other things, the amendment would have required a determination that the armed forces and / or law enforcement agencies of Mexico (or any other recipient nation seeking aid) are not involved or complicit in the trafficking of drugs, weapons or people.

The original leaders of the notorious “Zetas,” the violent enforcers of the Gulf Cartel who have brought murder and mayhem to the Rio Grande Valley, were former Mexican military personnel with special forces training who deserted the army.

“We know that some of these ‘guns for hire’ had U.S. military training. We must insist that our dollars never again train soldiers who then take that training and expertise and use it to serve organized crime,” said Tancredo. “Mexico must be required to clean up its act before we send truckloads of our tax dollars south – or we run the risk of American aid being siphoned off by the very drug cartels we are trying to defeat.”

The amendment would also require the President to certify that the U.S.-Mexico border is secure before aid could be provided to Mexico.

“The cartels only exist to smuggle drugs and people across our southwest border. If that border is made secure against all such smuggling, the cartels will be deprived of most of their profits – profits that feed corruption,” said Tancredo.

Tancredo’s amendment would also require, as a condition of receiving any U.S. aid, that a foreign government cooperate with all U.S. extradition requests and U.S. efforts to deport or repatriate nationals of that foreign country. The foreign government must also not assist or encourage its nationals to illegally immigrate to the U.S.

The amendment would also require a congressional vote on the President’s certifications before aid could flow.

“Congress should not provide this administration with a blank check once the State Department makes a handful of claims to this committee that may or may not be supported by evidence,” said Tancredo. “If the administration wants this money, they should have to convince Congress to give it to them.”

“We have to insist that governments like the one in Mexico tackle their internal corruption and get their houses in order before we start handing out tax dollars,” concluded Tancredo. “Without these safeguards, money sent to Mexico is as likely to end up in the pockets of the drug cartels as it is the reformers.”

The amendment failed 23 votes to 10. Those opposing the amendment were Howard Berman (D-CA), Gary Ackerman (D-NY), Eni Faleomavaega (D-AS), Donald Payne (D-NJ), Brad Sherman (D-CA), Robert Wexler (D-FL), Eliot Engel (D-NY), Gregory Meeks (D-NY), Diane Watson (D-CA), Adam Smith (D-WA), Russ Carnahan (D-MO), Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX), Ruben Hinojosa (D-TX), David Wu (D-OR), Brad Miller (D-NC), Linda Sanchez (D-CA), Albio Sires (D-NJ), Ron Klein (D-FL), Joseph Crowley (D-NY), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) and Luis Fortuno (R-PR). A brilliant college professor by the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his latest book, 'Mexifornia,' explaining how immigration - both legal and illegal was destroying the entire state of California. He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream. Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America. The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of th e United States . He said, 'If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy America . It is not that hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that 'An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.'' Over 100 languages are ripping the foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness. Even barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing as we celebrate 'diversity.' American jobs ar e vanishing into the Third World as corporations create a Third World in America Take note of California and other states. To date, ten million illegal aliens and growing fast. If we don't get this immigration monster stopped within three years, it will rage like a California wildfire and destroy everything in its path, especially The American Dream.

Radical Chicano Group Gets Millions In Earmarks

An extremist Mexican “La Raza” group that annually gets millions of U.S. federal grant dollars will receive even more taxpayer money in the next few years thanks to a Massachusetts congressman’s multi million-dollar earmark to counsel Hispanics about housing.

The National Council of La Raza already got $1.3 million from the Department of Housing and Urban Development this year to conduct “comprehensive housing counseling’’ for Hispanics, whether they are in the country legally or not. Now the radical group that advocates the return of the American Southwest to Mexico, will get an additional $15 million thanks to an earmark inserted by Massachusetts Democrat Barney Frank in a housing bill.

Frank, the House Financial Services Chairman, is giving the National Council of La Raza $5 million this year and $10 million in each of the next two years. The new law (FHA Housing Stabilization and Homeownership Retention Act of 2008) includes $100 million for mortgage counseling to be administered by non-profit groups like the National Council of La Raza, which has raked in millions of taxpayer dollars over the year. In fiscal 2006 alone, the group got $15.2 million in federal grants.

Americans should be outraged that their tax dollars are going to a group that, not only advocates open borders but organized many of the country’s disruptive pro illegal immigration marches a year ago. Although the National Council of La Raza describes itself as the largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, it actually caters to the radical Chicano movement that says California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and parts of Colorado and Texas belong to Aztlan.

Local 10-Year-Old Gives Birth to Baby Girl

It's an unbelievable story that has an entire community in shock.

Several sources confirm a 10-year-old girl from St. Anthony gave birth to a little girl on Saturday at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg.

The girl was allegedly raped by 37-year-old Guadalupe Gutierrez-Juarez. Gutierrez-Juaraz is an illegal immigrant who is in the Fremont County Jail on rape charges.

Gutierrez-Juarez was arrested April 29th after medical personnel alerted police that a pregnant child had come in for treatment. That child is now one of the youngest mothers in Idaho.

Counselor Matt Christensen has worked with sexually abused kids for over 10 years. Although he has nothing to do with this specific case, he's seen pregnancies affect other teenagers.

Matt Christensen, Counselor: "Children go through development stages and when something seriously traumatic hits, they tend to stop the development phases at that point."

It's unclear who will take custody of the newborn, what will happen to the ten year old, and if Gutierrez-Juarez will face charges.

The St. Anthony police department is still conducting an investigation against Gutierrez-Juaraz so officers did not want to comment on the case. They say more details may be released later.

Gutierrez-Juarez is being held on 250 thousand dollars bond. Even if he did post the required amount, he would not be released because he is an illegal immigrant.

During Obama's campaign for the 2008 presidential election he portrayed his mother as a conservative girl fromKansas; however in reality she was a radical leftist and cutural Marxist. She lived in the Seattle area; spending her teenage years in Seattle's coffee shops with other young radical leftist. Obama claims his mother's family were conserevative Methodists or Baptists fromKansas. However his mother's parents were members of aleft-wing Unitarian church near Seattle. The church located in Bellevue, Washington was knicknamed "the little red church," because of it's communist leanings.

The school Ann attended, Mercer Island High School, was a hotbed of pro-Marxist radical teachers. John Stenhouse, board member, told theHouse Un-American Activities Subcommittee that he had been a member of the Communist Party USA and this school has a number of Marxists on it's staff. Two teachers at this school, Val Foubert and Jim Wichterman, bothFrankfurt School style Marxists, taught acritical theory curriculum to students which include d; rejection of societal norms, attacks on Christianity, the traditional family, and assigned readings by Karl Marx. The hallway between Foubert's and Wichterman classrooms was sometimes called "anarchy ally."
Dunham has been described by her friends as "a fellow traveler..." meaning a communist sympathizer.
In an interview, Barack Obama referred to his mother as "the dominant figure in my formative years... The values she taught me continue to be my touchstone when it comes to how I go about the world of politics."
Before she died Ann Dunham wanted to adopt a mixed-race Korean baby father by a Black American stationed inSouth Korea. Ann Dunham died inHawaii in 1995 of ovarian cancer and uterine cancer.

While the crowd was indeed diverse, some students at the event questioned the practices of Mrs. Obama’s event coordinators, who handpicked the crowd sitting behind Mrs. Obama.

The Tartan’s correspondents observed one event coordinator say to another, “Get me more white people, we need more white people.” To an Asian girl sitting in the back row, one coordinator said, “We’re moving you, sorry. It’s going to look so pretty, though.”

“I didn’t know they would say, ‘We need a white person here,’?” said attendee and senior psychology major Shayna Watson, who sat in the crowd behind Mrs. Obama. “I understood they would want a show of diversity, but to pick up people and to reseat them, I didn’t know it would be so outright.”

I'm not sure there's any real reason for outrage here; every campaign, at least implicitly, includes race in the staging of events like this -- even a campaign whose supporters chant "race doesn't matter." But they don't usually get caught doing it this explicitly.

And (if you didn't pick it up from the bowling) it does give you a sense of the community Obama's trying to reach in Pennsylvania: whitefolks.
